Filling up of seams and cracks
Before you paint your living room, it is best to first fill all nail holes or cracks to ensure an even paintable surface and avoid any bursts in the paintwork. Soudal Repair Express Plaster is a high speed solution for lightweight plaster repairs. You can read how to do this quickly in four simple steps below.
Instructions
1. Clean the hole or crack
Remove all loose dirt and dust.
2. Open the cartridge or pot
Take the cover off the pot and stir the product or cut the top off the cartridge with a safety cutter, depending on the packaging format you are using. Twist the nozzle onto the cartridge and cut the end at an angle. You get the best result if the opening in the nozzle is just as large as the crack or hole you want to fill. Put the cartridge in the caulking gun and squeeze the handle until Repair Express Plaster appears.
3. Start filling
Apply a thin layer of Soudal Repair Express Plaster. Extrude the product into the hole or crack with the caulking gun and smooth with a wet filling knife. You then get a flat result. Alternatively, use a filling knife and scoop the product straight out of the pot and apply a thin layer over the crack or hole. Pull the filling knife over the wall in a smooth, flowing movement. You then avoid causing any damage to the plasterwork.
4. Leave to dry and paint over
Soudal Repair Express Plaster is dry after 60 minutes. You can already overpaint after 15 minutes. If you have used a lot of the product, be sure to check that it has sufficiently hardened before your start painting. First lightly sand the product.
Tip:
- Do you have to fill a large crack or deep hole? Apply the product in multiple layers. Allow each layer to dry for at least 1 hour before applying the next layer.
- Non-cured spilt Repair Express Plaster can be easily removed with water. Also, clean your filling knife with water as long as the product has not cured.
