Filling up joints and cracks in concrete

Filling up joints and cracks in cement

You can quickly repair a small crack or damage to the mortar joint of brickwork with a suitable filler. Repair Express Cement is a high-speed, textured formulation, developed for quick and easy repair or filling of joints and cracks in concrete/cement.

Instructions

1. Clean the wall

Remove all dirt and loose pieces of cement or concrete. Use a clean brush to remove the dust.

2. Open the cartridge

Cut the top off the cartridge with a safety cutter. Twist the nozzle onto the cartridge and cut the end at an angle. You get the best result if the opening of the nozzle is the same size as the crack you wish to fill. Put the cartridge in the caulking gun and squeeze the handle until filler appears.

3. Fill the crack

Place the nozzle where you want to start filling. Squeeze the handle and move the caulking gun over the crack in a smooth movement. Apply enough Soudal Repair Express Cement to ensure that the product adheres well and completely fills the cavity. With wider cracks, you can also apply Repair Express Cement with a filling knife.

4. Finish the joint

Wet the filling knife with clean water and smooth the product.

Tip:

  • Do you want to fill a deep crack or a large drilled hole? Do this in two steps. Apply the second layer of filler after approximately 30 minutes. Check that the first layer is dry before you start.
  • You can easily remove the product with water as long as Soudal Repair Express Cement has not cured.
  • You can paint over Repair Express Cement when it has fully hardened.
